"This will come as no surprise to anyone. Voter turnout in the mayor’s race dropped sharply between the first and second round of voting. In November, almost 19,000 people cast a vote for mayor, just under 50% of registered voters in Baytown. In December, only 2,110 pulled the lever in the runoff, a dismal 5% of registered voters.
