IRVforTexas is encouraging Charter Review Commissions to recommend eliminating runoff elections in their local nonpartisan elections by promoting instant runoff elections because runoff elections are low turnout, costly elections.
If several cities adopt this policy, just maybe, the legislature will pass a bill to allow instant runoff voting in these jurisdictions.
